Product Description

Grooveless Fiber Liquid Cold Plate|Planar Fiber Heat Sink for High-Power Fiber Lasers

Subtitle: Planar Grooveless Liquid-Cooled Heat Sink, Bonded Fiber Heat Dissipation. Simple Structure, Short Lead Time & Flexible Compatibility

The grooveless fiber liquid cold plate adopts a smooth flat substrate without milled grooves for fiber coiling. Gain fiber is evenly attached to the cold plate surface for heat exchange via thermal film or thermal adhesive. With built-in sealed liquid cooling channels, it is designed for gain fiber heat dissipation of high-power fiber lasers. Featuring simple structure and flexible modification, it supports multiple fiber coiling schemes.

Product Overview

The grooveless fiber liquid cold plate, also known as planar fiber liquid-cooled heat sink, is a heat dissipation component for gain fiber in high-power fiber lasers. Unlike plum-blossom grooved or annular grooved cold plates, its substrate surface is fully flat with no fiber recesses.

After coiling, the gain fiber is tightly bonded to the flat cold plate surface by thermal interface materials (thermal film / thermal adhesive). Heat from the fiber transfers to the cold plate substrate through the interface material. Integrated cooling channels inside the plate connect to an external chiller to remove heat via circulating deionized water.

Free from the dimensional constraints of grooves, it enables flexible fiber coiling layout. It delivers lower machining cost and rapid revision, ideal for prototype development, small-batch production and fiber lasers with frequently updated coiling designs. Aluminum alloy or copper base materials are optional. Customization of flow channels, outline, mounting holes and nozzle positions is fully supported.

✨ Core Advantages

Flat Grooveless Design for Free Fiber Coiling Layout

The smooth plate surface without recesses removes groove-shape restrictions for fiber arrangement. The coiling radius and routing can be adjusted flexibly to fit various fiber outer diameters and coiling schemes, facilitating prototype iteration.

Short Processing Cycle & Cost-Effective

Eliminates CNC milling for fiber grooves and greatly reduces machining hours. No deburring or radius finishing for groove openings, cutting manufacturing cost and speeding up sample delivery.

Reduced Risk of Fiber Scratches

No sharp groove edges, fundamentally removing the risk of fiber coating damage caused by burrs. Since fiber is not embedded in grooves, it can be detached without damage during disassembly, repair and maintenance.

High-Strength Sealed Liquid Cooling Cavity

Vacuum brazing or FSW friction stir welding processes available. Every unit undergoes hydrostatic pressure test and helium mass spectrometer leak detection before delivery for reliable sealing, preventing water leakage and optical component damage.

High-Thermal-Conductivity Substrate, Insulating & Anti-Corrosion

Standard 6061/6063 aluminum alloy with high thermal conductivity; copper optional for ultra-high power applications. Hard anodized surface provides insulation and resistance to electrochemical corrosion, compatible with deionized water cooling circuits.

Flexible Structure & High Integration

Customizable outline, mounting holes, locating pins and inlet/outlet nozzle orientation. Mounting platforms for pump LD and optoelectronic components can be reserved to simplify system integration of the complete laser unit.

📐 Product Structure Description

Planar Heat Exchange Substrate

Smooth flat working surface where gain fiber is attached with thermal interface materials, serving as the primary thermal contact surface for the fiber.

Base Heat Transfer Layer

Aluminum or copper substrate rapidly conducts heat from the fiber to internal liquid cooling channels.

Internal Liquid Cooling Flow Channels

Parallel or serpentine channels optimized via CFD simulation to control flow resistance and ensure uniform plate temperature. Circulating cooling water continuously removes heat.

Inlet & Outlet Ports

Threaded or quick-disconnect connectors are optional for connection with industrial chillers for deionized cooling water supply.

Mounting & Positioning Structure

Screw mounting holes and locating pin holes reserved on the rear or side faces to secure the cold plate onto the laser frame.

🛠️ Application Scenarios

✅ R&D prototypes of high-power continuous-wave fiber lasers

✅ Fiber laser cutting, welding and laser cladding equipment

✅ Fiber amplifiers, high-power fiber light sources for scientific research

✅ Laser systems requiring frequent adjustment and iteration of fiber coiling schemes
